It's coming. The end of the world. Everybody knows but cannot do anything about it. While we hear small voices to fight climate change, most of us pretend as if nothing is happening.
When it happens, there won't be time for a soft landing. One of the reasons is the rampant consumption of fossil fuels. We are not slowing down in this department, although the production will come to an abrupt stop. This is the first Achilles' Heel facing us.
The second is plastic. By 2050, half of the ocean will be filled with plastic. Microplastics will get into the lives of sea creatures more commonly than mercury and other heavy metals.
The third climatic disaster is water. Too much and too little. There will be too much seawater and too little fresh water. The Arctic Cap is melting at a very alarming rate. What is worse is that the Perma Frost is melting, and with that, the release of methane gas.
These are the Al Capones of climate change. There are many other things, including deforestation, sustainability, and urban poverty. If we take a bird's eye view of the world now, we can safely say that 2041 to 2050 is the Climatic Armageddon.
We are at the end of the current S-curve, only to face another daunting downward cycle after 2041. We have no choice but to exit while we still can.
