Let's look at life objectively. You are dying the day you were born. That's the bottom line. If we think the human species will endure the next two hundred years, we are only kidding ourselves. Nothing lasts forever. Especially the human race. Unless we move in reverse, progress is a bane.
Consider this, every quarter the corporations are driving for more profit. This consumption-driven economy is not realistic. We keep on demanding more resources to feed greed and wastage.
Resources are limited to what the world can contain and produce. Realistically, the resources will be depleted, and nations will start competing for the limited pool. And then what? Mining the moon? What is the economy of scale of such a feat?
Scientists are to be blamed for such forward thinking. Then come the politicians and finally the businessmen. Enough talk about profiteering. What's the point of piling all this wealth? Is there a body that controls the maximization of profit?
While people look up to the number of billionaires we have around, unlimited resources are actually a poison that pollutes society. Before this, I too was interested in making as much money as possible, but when I think about it, it is still the case of robbing Peter to pay Paul.
So I am withdrawing from any multimillion-dollar business proposition. I would rather remain poor.
